Let's See If I Remember How to Do This....

Maybe by the time her first birthday rolls around things will be getting back to normal. Perhaps that's wishful thinking, but I was really trying there for a while, and then things got crazy with the holidays, and here we are two months later. I've been semi-active on Instagram, but I wouldn't blame you if you forgot all about me.

Where do I even begin? Well, let's start with... How are you? Doing well, I hope! I miss you all dearly! What's been going on? E turned six months old on Monday. Can you believe it?! I certainly can't. Six months... phew! She's doing very well, aside from a bout with a respiratory infection and now, shockingly, a staph infection caught from Lord knows where. I swear, we can't catch a break with this little one! Other than the weird bumps, she's as happy as ever. She started solids a few weeks ago, is rolling over, and learning all sorts of new sounds. She's hit or miss on sleeping through the night, but we have ordered a Zippy, and are hoping that'll be our sleep savior. Here are some other news nuggets for my youngest:
  • She loves television. Her favorite shows are Sesame Street, Octonauts, Veggie Tales, and The Busy World of Richard Scarry.
  • She also loves cell phones. I think it's because we usually have ours around all the time. #techbaby #theworldwelivein
  • Her favorite foods are breastmilk {of course}, green vegetables, pears, and bananas.
  • She's become quite the daddy's girl.
  • Her big sister is her best friend.
As for my oldest, she'll be 10 in April, and I just can't wrap my head around that. Double whammy with a speed-growing baby and my first baby turning double digits. I can't even. She's joined drama club at school and will be joining gymnastics next month, She's very spirited, often a pain, but exactly like me, and I am amazed at the young lady she's turning out to be. Here are some news nuggets for her:
  • She's addicted to her mp3 player. She's currently binging on Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor.
  • She's also addicted to Minecraft. So are all of her friends, and they'll get their Kindles/iPads/laptops together and play at the same time. I can't believe we're there already.
  • She's been saving money she's earned from pet sitting to get a pedicure. She wants to wait till it warms up so she can show it off in flip flops.
  • She's {sort of} trying to learn how to knit.
  • Her little sister is her best friend.
Me? I recently taught myself how to crochet, and have been trying to work on various projects. So far I've made baby booties, some granny square coasters, a classic beanie for J, an earflap hat for E, and am working on a basket for L. I recently bought some new clothes, and am ecstatic about no longer wearing anything maternity. Now if I can just find the time for makeup, I'll really be in business!

Cloth diapers? We are still using them! I had so many posts I wanted to write on this topic, and had planned on posting regular updates, but that {obviously} didn't happen. I will say we are loving our GroVia Hybrids, and are still using disposables at night.

That's all I can think of right now, and I'm shocked I was able to crank all this out before E woke up! She's still not a big napper, especially when not being held, so this was a miracle! Hopefully I can return to regular blogging soon, but thanks for reading in the meantime!
