Post-Surgery, Cloth Diapers, and {Hopefully} Upcoming Posts #OldSchoolBlogging

I love my daughter. I really, truly do. I also love blogging, and I feel like it's impossible to balance the two. Not because I can't manage, but because E will have none of it. If she doesn't have 100% of my attention {and person}, then she must sing me the song of her people.... if you get what I'm sayin'. Needless to say, she has been winning, and I have been staring at my laptop missing the days when I could sit at my desk and blog to my little heart's content.

"One day," it has been said to me. "One day." While that may be true, I can't have the blog sitting here collecting dust. I have so much to say! So, while I have a rare moment, I thought I'd fill you in on what's been going on these last several weeks.

E Had Surgery

Last Friday, the 14th, E had her umbilical hernia repaired. It was a very rough time for the both of us, but she is healing wonderfully, and is almost back to feeling 100%! We were able to remove the bandages last night, and it was almost strange to see her belly with a normal navel. I had gotten quite used to how she looked with the large protrusion that was her belly button. I'm so glad it's over!

Cloth Diapers

Those fluffy, adorable vessels for housing pee and poo have consumed me. We have purchased a friend's nearly-new stash, and are expected to receive them next week. With the upcoming arrival of goods, I've been reading a lot, joining various cloth diaper-related Facebook Groups, and talking about it with friends probably way too much. My dear friend's new pregnancy and desire to cloth diaper has fueled my passion even more, as I've been sharing all I know with her.

That said, we are about to become a breastfeeding, babywearing, cloth diapering household, and I could not be happier! Like I mentioned last night on the AMM Facebook Page {as part of the nightly #momtalk discussion}, I'm such a different mom this time around. I can't wait to share this journey with you, and hopefully become a resource for those with questions, concerns, or even just a place where cloth diapering mamas can rejoice!

Upcoming Post Plans

So, I have this list on my phone of post ideas as I think of them. On that list, I have a comprehensive comparison of Pampers, Huggies, Up & Up, Parent's Choice, and CVS brand baby wipes. When E was a little younger I had the hardest time finding a wipe that I liked that's packaging was functional for my needs. Sure, I could love the wipe, but the packaging would be a total pain. Or vice versa! So, my plan is to put together this post with all the pros and cons of the aforementioned brands. Won't that be nice when it's available? I've been wanting to write this post for so long, but it's going to take time, and like I said earlier, E says nuh-uh to that!

Also on that list is a diaper bag must-have post, a makeup remover re-visit and review, and a follow-up to my Wrap vs. Carrier post focusing on the ring sling. Yes, that's right, I finally have one! And I have had the opportunity to use it enough to put together a pros and cons post.... eventually. I have lots of plans... I just need the time. Please be patient with me. We'll get there!

I want to thank all of you for sticking with me through this weird half-hiatus. I had no idea what to expect when E arrived, but I definitely didn't expect it to last this long! She was three-months-old on the 16th, and I still can't get anything done. To say it's frustrating would be an understatement. Yes, I'm enjoying this time with her, and trying to soak every moment in to the fullest, but I would still like to have an hour or two a day to myself. I think every mother deserves that to save her sanity. Are you with me?

Anyway, I reiterate, thank you so much for your patience and continued readership. I'm staying active on Facebook and Instagram these days, so while I can't be here, you can find me there, and please do!
