Weekend Adventures {6/07 & 6/08} — A Modern Mrs.
Still wanting to vlog. Camera's still broken. Didn't think to use my iPhone. That pretty much sums up the weekend. I told J we needed to purchase a new battery for the vlog camera to see if that's the issue. Chalk it up to pregnancy brain{dead}, but it never occurred to me to use the video option on my phone.... Derp.

Anyway, this past weekend consisted of my younger sister's wedding on Saturday, and dinner with friends on Sunday. While I did snap some pictures during the wedding, I was so in the moment with our friends that I completely forgot to snap some pictures at dinner. However, I did get one of my crew on the way there, and one of my dessert after I had taken my first bite. Better than nothing, right?

Let's start with Saturday.

Weekend Adventures {6/07 & 6/08} — A Modern Mrs.

It was a lovely day for an outdoor wedding. My sister's venue was this stunning old manor house along the water. The ceremony was held in the backyard complete with an adorable porch swing, which I couldn't get a picture of because it was so darn bright I couldn't see. Luckily, the bride and groom were shaded, so I was able to get a picture of them in the midst of exchanging the rings. {By the way, her rings are gorgeous!}

The reception followed at the local fire department. She had twinkle lights strung along the ceiling, which was cute, and pictures of her and the groom throughout their years together as the decor. These two have been together for-ever. That's no joke. They've literally been together longer than J and I, starting back when they were in high school. She's 26 now for reference.

Congrats to them!

Moving on to Sunday. I woke up sick. Yay! ... Not. I have this weird sinus thing going on, which means lots of tissues, a nasally voice, and being perpetually out of breath. That didn't stop us from meeting our friends, though. We had been planning this for weeks, and it was going to happen! I just made sure to keep a safe distance to avoid the possibility of spreading any germs. I'm such a friend, eh?

We went to this new-ish wood fired pizza place one town over. It's owned by the same guy who owns and operates our favorite Gastropub, so we thought it would be a win, but we were left a little disappointed. We ordered Mozzarella Sticks to start, a Crab Pizza to share, and I chose the Turtle Brownie as dessert. J tried some of the craft beer they had on tap {he's a huge craft beer fan}, and I enjoyed a Peach Lemonade.

Our "beef" with the food is that it was mediocre. We were there for over two hours, and not by choice. While we noshed on the Mozzarella Sticks {and I did enjoy the Old Bay Aioli}, the Crab Pizza was pretty bland and overly salty, but the real kicker was the Turtle Brownie. Both my friend and I ordered the same dessert, and were told it would only take 10 minutes to arrive. Well, we were sitting there at least 40 minutes waiting, and when we finally got our dessert, it was just meh. Sure, it was nice to look at, but it definitely wasn't worth the wait.

We won't be going back.

And that concludes our Weekend Adventures. It was a pretty laid back weekend, and I'm sorry I don't have more photos to share, but next Saturday is a Mommy-Daughter Day, so there should be plenty to share next week!
