29 Weeks Update

6/16/2014

As I sit down to write this, I have just come back from my OB's office, which was supposed to be a regular check-up and glucose test. What began as a run-of-the-mill exam, ended with a "your baby is measuring small," and off I went to have a lengthy ultrasound. Baby E is indeed small, and now that we've entered bi-weekly check-ups, I have to have another ultrasound in two weeks. The plan is if she hasn't progressed by then, they'll induce me at 37 weeks.

My placenta, fluid, E's cord, heart, and brain all checked out healthy. The concern now rests with the fact that my uterus may not be growing properly, and thus restricting E's growth. If any of you are praying people, I would really appreciate prayers for a healthy pregnancy. I'm not fond of the idea of being induced {it posed problems for me with L's delivery}, but obviously we are going to do what's best for E. If we go in two weeks from now and she has grown, we may be able to skirt past this induction talk. /fingers crossed!

Stretch Marks: I haven't noticed any that seem new, but honestly, it's hard to tell these days. I can't see past a certain point on my belly, and I can't tell if the stretch marks on my thighs are old or new. I'm not that worried about it. I keep slathering on my cocoa butter and hoping for the best, but as they say, what will be will be.

Belly Button: Still flat.

Linea Nigra: {That's the dark line down the front of your belly.} Still no, and still thankful.

Clothes: My tops are still fitting me with the exception of one that's getting a wee too short, but I did purchase some new bottoms from Target on Friday. I decided against maternity clothes and went straight for the yoga pants. I bought two yoga capris; one in black and one in gray, and a plain black pair of drawstring shorts. It was the best decision I've made in a while.

Heartburn: Thankfully it's still on the DL. Although, I did eat a banana last night which promptly gave me heartburn, but other than that, I can't recall when I had it last.

Do we have a middle name? Nope. I'm still keen on the same name that J won't commit to, and he still thinks he'll come up with something better.

This past week: I've been struggling with joint pain, which my mid-wife recommended seeing a chiropractor over, but she said most of them won't touch a pregnant woman, so I may have to get physical therapy. I'm going to make some calls tomorrow to see if anyone is willing to fix me up, and take it from there.

Nursery Progress: Same-o. My baby shower is this Saturday, though {Yay!}, so things will be changing soon!

Overall: I'm worried about this growth issue, but am thankful that she's otherwise healthy. The sonographer gave me a sneak peek 4D shot of E's face, and she's adorbs! Look at dem lips!

Coming Up: My baby shower, and in two weeks my next appointment and ultrasound.

  1. Thanks, Sarah! Hubs' phone doesn't take the best photo, so that's nice to hear.
