Jesse's Girl Liquid Glass Lip Gloss Collection Review, Photos, Swatches — A Modern Mrs.
New and improved. Bigger and better. This is what comes to mind when I think of Jesse's Girl's new Liquid Glass Lip Glosses. The collection features nine shades, some old, some new, with bigger packaging, a more stylish appearance, and a brush applicator. I know what you're thinking... This comes with a cost, doesn't it? Not at all, my friend! The new Liquid Glass Lip Glosses are still less than five bucks!

Availability: Participating Rite Aid stores, jessesgirlcosmetics.com
Price: $4.99

Of the nine shades, which I'll lay out for you in a moment, there's a mix of cream, shimmer and glitter finishes. Let's first take a moment to talk a bit about the packaging.

First, the new Liquid Glass glosses are larger, containing 0.05 oz./1.5 ml. {The old Liquid Glass glosses, which are currently on clearance, contained 0.028 oz./0.7 ml.} The packaging is elongated, with a slight triangular shape. The cap is matte black, which doesn't hold fingerprints, and the shade names are clearly noted on the base. That's one of the things I love about Jesse's Girl's packaging; the shade names are always easily located and easy to read.

The brush applicator is a nice change from the prior sponge tip, but sadly, there seemed to be an error in manufacturing that caused some of the applicators to fray terribly. I spoke to my contact at Jesse's Girl, and they are aware of the issue and are actively working on correcting the problem. Unfortunately, some of the earlier glosses had already been sent out before the problem was discovered, but don't worry, the applicators should be fixed soon {if they haven't been already}! Jesse's Girl wanted me to forward along this quick message:
If anyone has a problem with their applicators fraying upon purchasing, they should contact us through the contact form on our website and we'll work with them to fix the situation as best we can. We want our fans to be happy!
Now, let's get on to the available shades!
  • Cherry Bomb - Vibrant orange-based red.
  • Cinnamon Girl - Rose beige with holo shimmer.
  • Idyllic - Light lavender purple with pink and silver glitter. {Was previously named Rose.}
  • Lip Lock - Bright carnation pink.
  • Mellow Drama - Classic red.
  • Papaya - Grapefruit pink with pink and gold glitter.
  • Razzle Dazzle - Medium fuchsia pink.
  • Scarlet Fever - Deep maroon red.
  • Sunset Kiss - Orange-based coral with gold shimmer.
The Liquid Glass Lip Gloss formula is a beaut to work with! Each one was creamy, even the glitter finishes - not gritty or chunky. They're not overly thick on the lips, though the tacky finish will keep you from forgetting you're wearing anything. I wouldn't call them "sticky", and the tackiness does attribute to their long wear. The majority of the shades are full coverage, with only Idyllic offering a sheerer application. The reds are powerfully pigmented, so take your time applying them, or else you'll make a mess! {I speak from experience...} In fact, they're so pigmented, they leave behind a nice stain.

The lighter shades put in about four hours of wear, through drinking and a light meal, while the deeper shades lasted all day! The Liquid Glass Lip Glosses need no assistance in the sense you can {and should} wear them alone.

Having been a huge fan of the old Liquid Glass Lip Glosses, I can honestly say Jesse's Girl has outdone themselves with a wonderful formula, shade selection, and attractive design. If you're looking for some shade recommendations, check out Cinnamon Girl and Razzle Dazzle. They're definitely two of my favorites!
