Q: What's your ideal family vacation?
A: One where L can be entertained, but J and I can also relax! We were go-go-going the whole time on our Disney vacation that we're referring to it as a "trip" instead of a "vacation."
Q: Does your family vacation every year?
A: No. We will do day trips here and there, but J never had vacation time until last year, and we used it to go on our honeymoon. Hopefully now that he has a job with vacation time, we can use it to take vacations regularly.
Q: What time of year do you typically go on vacation?
A: We chose February to 1) beat the crowd and 2) beat the heat. Ideally we'd vacation in the summer so not to remove L from school, but we'll take 'em as we can get 'em.
Q: Do you have a least favorite family vacation?
A: Nothing comes to mind. I can't say I've had a really terrible vacation... even as a kid.
Q: Are you currently planning a vacation? Details!
A: Yes! We came home from Florida thinking of where we wanted to go next. We're considering a cruise because J has been wanting to go on one for some time, but we haven't decided on a destination.

What's your ideal family vacation?
ReplyDelete- One that doesn't last more than 72 hours. We have a 72-hour rule for family get-togethers - after three days together, we usually start fighting. LOL.
Does your family vacation every year?
- My extended family used to "swarm" vacations - one branch would say "we're going here for vacation" and suddenly everyone else would decide to jump on the trip! It was lots of fun. We haven't done a big family vacation like that since my grandmother passed away a few years ago, though. Which makes me sad. Now, Jon and I do mini vacations together as a "family unit" and I "vacation" to visit my parents for Christmas, or we go on vacation together for Christmas.
My Family Vacation photo attached to this comment is from one of these vacations - we all went to the Bahamas for Easter (actually, only my dad knew that I was coming, everyone else thought I had to stay at school for exams).
What time of year do you typically go on vacation?
- With my parents, usually around Christmas (that's when it's the easiest to get extended time off work). With Jon, we usually do a few weekend getaways in the spring/summer (usually planned around comic conventions)
Do you have a least favorite family vacation?
- We went on a Mediterranean cruise on year (which should have been awesome) - I actually only got to go though because my grandmother was ill, so she and my grandfather decided not to go (which meant that they transferred their cabin to me). It was an amazing vacation but I was sad to think of the reason why I was there. Plus, I got my semester grades while we were on the cruise and I learned that I failed one of my classes (and came close to failing another) so that news kind of put everything in a downer mood.
Are you currently planning a vacation? Details!
- Not a family vacation, but I'm going to Florida in March for my best friend's wedding reception (the wedding was last year), and then the next weekend Jon and I are going to Boston for a convention!
