Tuesday Tea Time: Twinings Green Tea Review

1/08/2013

Today I want to talk about Twinings' Green Tea. I've been especially loving this tea lately... in fact, it's the only tea I've been drinking for a few weeks now. It's a great choice for when you're in-between your bold morning cup and your evening herbal cup!

Twinings Green Tea is packaged in a flip-open box with vibrant, earthy shades of green and brown. There's 20 bags per box, which are sealed inside individual pouches that easily tear off. I find the pouches preserve not only freshness, but aroma as well.

Naturally decaffeinated Pure Green Tea with a fresh taste, smooth flavour and enticing aroma.

Availability: Grocery Stores, TwiningsAmazon
Pricing: $2.99 and up.

Twinings Green Tea Review — a Modern Mrs.
The instructions state to brew for two minutes, or to your desired strength, but I find no matter how long I leave the bag in this tea doesn't ever get "strong." It's very light in body, smooth and delicate in taste, and has a subtle-but-fresh fragrance and golden color. Twinings' Green Tea, although it's hot, is very refreshing. It's decaffeinated, so you can have as many cups as you'd like without any jitters or crash later on. You can even enjoy this as an iced tea by brewing four bags to four cups of water, then serve over ice! While I do enjoy a good iced tea (sweet tea is a staple 'round these parts), this particular tea I prefer hot... on its own... in my favorite "Mother" mug....

If you're new to hot tea, I think Twinings' Green Tea would be a great starter! It's pretty foolproof in preparation, it's absolutely delicious, is sure to agree with any palate, and the price is very reasonable. It also pairs well with a variety of foods! Seeing as you can enjoy this at any time of the day, I've paired it with a lunch meat sandwich, a pastry, even dinner! I love that it's 100% natural and provides my body with the antioxidants it needs to stay healthy.

  1. Inspired to try out the green tea available in our pantry area at work (we have a Flavia machine, with little packets that you pop in and it makes the tea, or coffee). My cup isn't as fancy as your mug, of course!

  2. Well, I was a bit overzealous and tried to drink it before it had cooled off any, so I think I burnt my tongue some. But now that it's cooled off a little, I'm enjoying it!
