Deal of the Day: 10% Off New Arrivals at Old Navy — a Modern Mrs.
Old Navy hit my inbox today today with a 10% off New Arrivals announcement, and after giving that a look, I found I had some picks that aren't far off from clearance prices! So, let's take a look at my picks from Old Navy's New Arrivals:

I didn't see much that really grabbed me, but the Honeycomb-Knit Crew Sweater ($29.94) caught my eye when I saw it featured on Penny Pincher Fashion. She was modeling the Fresh Lilac shade, which is cute, but I don't think that particular color would really suit me. So, I chose the Bright Nite shade instead. I would also pick one up in Marshmallow and Mint Leaf, and I'd use them as layering pieces (just like Kimberly from Penny Pincher Fashion did).

Next, I spotted this adorable Monogrammed Sweater ($24.94), and of the six patterns and colors available, my favorite is the "Color M," which is white with navy blue stripes and monogram. I mean, really, isn't that so cute? I'd pair it casually with skinny jeans, or dress it up a bit with a blazer.

Lastly, the Polka-Dot Chiffon Shirtdress in "On Black Dot" ($34.94). It doesn't offer much shape (which could be good or bad, depending on your body shape and preference), so I would wear a belt with it to cinch in the waist. Honestly, though, I probably wouldn't purchase it right now... even with the discount. If it gets to around $20-25, and is still available in my size, then we'll talk.

Before I go, I'd like to honorably mention Old Navy's Skinny Boyfriend Jeans. They look cute and totally comfy! Sadly for me, though, Old Navy's jeans don't fit me properly — their smallest size is a bit wide in the waist and baggy in the posterior. Wah.

See anything you like? Will you be shopping the sale?

  1. I love the boyfriend jeans. I don't even know the last time I paid over $20 for jeans though (thrift shopper here) lol. That monogram sweater is pretty cute too

  2. I totally understand. I've never found a pair of thrifted jeans in my size, so I usually have to pay full price, but I try to buy on sale. $20 is my limit, though. You won't see me spending $50+ on jeans!

  3. I don't think I could buy a monogrammed sweater that wasn't my own initial... but I also don't think I would wear one that WAS my own initial. Hmm.

LOVING that honeycomb-knit sweater though! It's so different from all of the sweaters I already own...

  4. You know.... I assumed you could edit the letter at checkout, and you can't. I'd wear the "M" for Modern Mrs., though. /wink.

  6. I can't ever imagine spending more than $20 on jeans either. The last pairs I bought were on "sale" at Kohl's for $19.99.

I have a hard time shopping for clothes at thrift shops - I feel a bit skeeved out wearing clothes when I don't know who wore them before me.

  7. I just wash them when I get home, can't beat $2 for a pair of jeans that retail for $50 :)
