Modern Mom Style: Impressing the Co-Workers

There's that all-important moment when you're meeting your spouse's co-workers for the first time. This was one of those moments. J's company hosted a holiday event last friday for the kids, where Santa stopped by and the kids got to sit on his lap, get a goodie bag, and run around with other kids having a good time. This was only the second (third?) time I've been to my husband's place of business, so I wanted to make sure I looked nice. It wasn't really about impressing them, but rather offering an overall good impression. Hair combed, clothes put together, fresh breath.... you get the picture.

Jeans: City Street Skinnies (JCPenney)
Scarf: Merona Pashmina (Target)

Boots: Mossimo Kailey Boot in Brown (Target)

L with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

I was really pleased with how this outfit turned out! I was even more thrilled that I was able to get some decent pictures of it, since I can almost never get any outfit photos inside of my house. This outfit was very comfortable, and a step-up from "casual" thanks to the heel on the boots. This entire outfit probably cost around $50, and those City Street jeans are a-ma-zing-ly comfortable! They're made of this stretch blend that really hugs you in all the right places. Bonus points that I found them on clearance!

What's your go-to outfit combo for the ultimate first impression?
