Lady Gaga's Eau de Parfum Review + Giveaway

12/27/2012

This very well may be the only wearable thing Lady Gaga will ever create, but her new fragrance is actually quite lovely! To best honest, I really wasn't expecting much. When I think of Lady Gaga and perfume, I envision this odorific travesty. Don't lie... you did too. However, when I gave it a spritz, I was pleasantly surprised, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

First of its kind, this perfume is an innovation in fluid technology. It's black like the soul of Fame, but invisible once airborne.

If you're a lover of creative packaging, you'll surely appreciate Fame's oval-shaped bottle and claw-like cap. It's futuristic, yet simple and clean. The cap has a nice weight to it — not chintzy at all. The atomizer spritzes just enough for a delicate application, and doesn't leave you feeling like you've bathed in fragrance. I like to apply a light spritz to the pulse points on my neck and wrists for optimum "performance," and the amount that's dispensed dries quickly so not to ruin my clothes or be overwhelming.

The packaging describes the notes as "tears of belladonna, crushed hearts of tiger orchidea, a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot, and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops." I don't know about all that, but its design is to have one overall scent, rather than the traditional top, middle and base notes. Overall, I get an enticing feel from Fame. A touch musky, a touch sweet, and delightfully feminine. It's long-wearing, offering subtle bursts of fragrance throughout the day and night.

Most women have certain fragrances they prefer for particular times of the year. I have one or two fragrances I only wear during the spring and summer seasons, and the same goes for other fragrances I reserve for the cooler fall and winter months. Then, I have the really nice fragrances I bust out for special occasions. You know... the ones that were a little costly, so you want to baby the bottle for as long as possible.

All that said, Lady Gaga's Fame doesn't lean towards any particular time of the year for me. I don't feel it's so fancy it should be babied, but it's not a whatever-every-day fragrance like Victoria Secret's The Body Mist (which is my spring/summer fragrance of choice). It is this characteristic that gives Fame a leg up on most fragrances — it's so versatile! Wear it day-to-day, for a special night out, in cold weather, warm weather... whenever!

As someone who's not usually impressed by celebrity fragrances, I was surprised to find Lady Gaga's Fame to be well-rounded. I love the packaging, and how there aren't different notes popping up throughout its wear. I love its sultriness, yet effortless wearability, and I'm definitely a fan of how long-wearing it is!

You can find Lady Gaga's Fame at Target or Amazon, and the price will vary by size (around the ballpark of $20 give or take), but don't run off and buy one just yet! Enter to win one below!
