How to Make Your Own Bubbles

How to Make Your Own Bubbles — a Modern Mrs.
Ever notice how once the weather warms up, stores have bubbles stocked aplenty, but once school starts up again, they've disappeared? Are bubbles only fun between the months of June and September? And isn't it such a drag to spend a minimum of $1.00 on a 2 fl. oz. bottle, only to have it knocked over? What a pain, right?

Bubbles are fun for all ages, and there are now toys with only one purpose — to blow bubbles. Do you have one of those? Those suckers are bubble mix hungry! Before you know it you're all out of bubbles, and have kids screaming for more. You fork over more money for these senseless bottles of bubble mix, all the while wondering if there's a better way.

There is a better way!

DIY bubble mix, my friends. It's super easy, inexpensive, and comes out to less than $1.00 a batch, which generates way more than 2 fl. oz.!

Homemade Bubble Mix

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup liquid dish soap (Dealer's choice. Pick one with a nifty color!)
  • 1/8 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 spiffy container

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a large container, and shake it up.
  2. Allow the bubbles to settle before using.
  3. Ta da!
