Healthy Breakfast Loaf Recipe


Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, mmkay? Unfortunately, some people skip it entirely (big no no), or due to a time crunch. grab it on the go. To-go meals generally mean you'll be consuming entirely too much sugar, sodium, and/or fat when your body needs carbohydrates, fiber, and protein.

Healthy Breakfast Loaf to the rescue! Don't let the word "healthy" fool you skeptics. This breakfast bread tastes good, is good for you, and is incredibly easy to make. You can even smear some butter on there! Seriously, though. However you want to dress up this recipe, it's still way better for you than the processed breakfast breads and bars on the market.

Healthy Breakfast Loaf

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 ½ tbs. Honey or Maple Syrup
  • 1 tbs. Canola Oil
  • 1 cup Milk
  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the oatmeal, flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, dissolve honey/syrup in the canola oil.
  4. Stir the milk into the honey and oil mixture.
  5. Combine both mixtures (dry and wet) and stir until a soft dough forms.
  6. Coat a bread pan and pour the dough into the bread pan. Sprinkle some oats on top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool before slicing.
Additional Notes: Feel free to add fresh fruit to the dough before baking (bananas are especially nice) for some added flavor and nutrients. This bread also freezes very well, so feel free to double the recipe and freeze the second loaf for later!

  1. It's great! Very filling, which is good cause I like to just eat bread in the morning. I did add bananas to the recipe, which I think makes it more wet. I had to bake it longer, but it tastes really good and its easy and cheap to make.
